THE PROJECT THE PURPOSE THE PRODUCT
Project Weaselskin’s mission is to implement programs and research changes in the following tracks :
● Wildlife habitat/archaeological conservation easement and conservation studies
● Equine experiential education and equine therapy
● Athletic, healthy and well being lifestyle enrichment and education
● Sustainable agricultural and forest product production while engaging ‘at risk’ youth
● Energy research and development of renewable resources involving Colorado entrepreneurs
● Local collaboration of educational institutions, human service organizations and businesses

The project Weaselskin will provide the educational and human service sectors in Durango and surrounding 4 Corners area of Colorado the benefit of having access to acres of agricultural land; old growth pinon/juniper forest that are now protecting Ancient Puebloan archaeological sites and wildlife habitat along the Animas River watershed. We also provide a host home for homeless youth that are involved in the school system and in the programs utilizing this wondrous location. We hope to open the retreat residence soon. However, our current teaching facilities provide a much wanted locale for workshops, gatherings, and educational events.
Why does this project matter? The act of conserving the wildlife corridor, archaeological sites and open space is vital to the ecological well being of the Animas river watershed as well as the real and spiritual
beauty of this area of Colorado. Weaselskin is conserving this land with a purpose that matters to those presently in need of theeducational, research and human service activities; that matters to those in the past whose artifacts and community mores are not to be destroyed and forgotten; that matters to those in the future who will be thankful for the establishment of a socially conscious business model that re‐establishes a connection to the land with the connection we have to one another and our communities.
The purpose is to have impacts on the well being and consciousness of each individual who participates in any one of the various programs, business ventures, and projects operated on the property. Project Weaselskin will have positive economic impacts on Durango and surrounding communities by producing agricultural products; providing educational/human services, and generating economic ideas. Project Weaselskin will have impacts on Colorado and national planners by being a model ofcollaboration between human services, educational and research activities, and private operations who collectively produce marketable products, services and ideas all the while maintaining the current balance and beauty of our wild and human‐managed ecosystems.
All of this works through the collaborative actions of the many programs, institutions and investors are the integral keys to project Weaselskin that initiates this unique pattern of exponential return of benefits whereby the whole impact of the project is far greater than the sum of its parts.
Project Weaselskin is and will be in the business of improving people, places and things.
